Get involved: Design a Hat or join our Dog show!

I've just driven past the Showground and spotted that there are pegs in the ground to mark out where each of the attractions and stands will go.

The 10th July will be here before we know it and that pegged out field will look very different: full of lots of people (you will come, won't you?) for starters and some great fun things to see and do!

If you would like to really get into the spirit of the Jersey Evening Post West Show, here's a couple of ideas, get involved:

You could design a hat - as long as you find your inspiration in the countryside- and raise money for Headway. The winners will receive vouchers to shop at Voisins AND the best creations will be modelled at the "Fashion on the Street" event on King St on the 16th July. Both adults and children are welcome to enter, but PLEASE do so before the 8th July.

OR if you have a special pooch with star quality, why not share their talents with other dog lovers and join in the fun competition which is being held at the Show by the Kennel Club of Jersey?

You can enter on the day, up to an hour before the judging starts. it costs £1 to enter and there are 7 categories:

(i)Happiest dog and owner
(ii)Puppy 4 - 12 months
(iii)Best 6 legs
(iv)Rescue dog
(v)Dog most like owner
(vi)Veteran (7 years and over)
(vii)Dog the judge would most like to take home
